Interview With Kirk Cameron - Star of Fireproof - Last Fall's Surprise Hit

Kirk Cameron of Growing Pains and the Left Behind movies had a huge hit last fall called Fireproof. Did you see it? If not, you can watch the trailer below, and you can preorder a copy on DVD from Amazon right now. (It's available on Tuesday, January 29th) SizzlingPopcorn.com interviewed Cameron on Friday. It was an interesting interview. Here's the beginning of the interview:

"Jean: You’re a two-time Golden Globe nominee for your role in Growing Pains, you’ve starred in three Left Behind movies and now you’re starring in Fireproof. Could you tell me a little bit about your character, Caleb Holt?

Kirk: The character I play is named Caleb Holt and he’s a firefighter, who is on the brink of a divorce. He is a hero at work, putting out fires wherever he goes, but at home his marriage is going up in smoke. This is a story about him learning what unconditional love is and about him trying to rescue his own marriage.

Jean: What drew you to this role?

Kirk: It was made by Sherwood Pictures. This is a little company out of Georgia that made a movie called Facing The Giants. I really liked this movie. It was an independent movie made on a very small budget that did such a great job and was such a great story. I called and said, “if you’re going to make another movie, please let me know”. So they did and this is the movie: Fireproof. I auditioned for the role, I got the part and made the movie. It’s all about marriage and marriage is really important to me. My wife and I have been married for 17 years, have a big family. It was such a joy to work on it."
